Pediatric therapists know that praxis is a broad term that involves a child’s ability to conceptualize, organize, and direct unfamiliar purposeful actions. Praxis allows children to plan and execute motor skills in a refined and efficient manner, thereby allowing for ideal fulfillment of a child’s life roles.
Motor Planning is the ability to conceive, organize, sequence and execute an unfamiliar and complex body movement in a coordinated manner.
These tools and activities improve a child’s strength, coordination, motor planning and endurance while having fun! The use of rules and competition can be modified as desired to include all children.

Apple cards are sorted into three piles by color. During his/her turn the child will pick three different colored apple cards. Once the directions are read, he/she is expected to remember the directions and execute the task correctly. The adult yells “APPLE SAUCE†and the child is on their way!
Child is select a Shape Movement Challenge Card that includes directions for how to: Move their body while exploring for geometric shapes OR Move their body in the form of a geometric shape. After assuming the shape, explore for that geometric shape.
