Bilateral Coordination

Braiding

The act of braiding typically requires the use both hands to weave three pieces of material (ex: strands of yarn, ribbon or thin rope) in a specified pattern. The end product will resemble a long hair braid. Developing this skill will have a positive impact on a child’s bilateral integration, as well as improving motor planning for recalling and executing a sequence of movements.
