Agility is the ability to change the position and direction of the body in space in a quick and steady manner. It requires a combination of balance, coordination, speed, strength, and endurance.
Select a Bunny Hop! Agility Ladder Drill Card. Arrange footprints as directed on the drill card. Place footprints directly in the course, or to the side. Student will step/jump through the ladder to copy that drill card. ** Use painter’s tape if no agility ladder is available.
Once the “Jumping Mats†are arranged in a path, student is to jump from one card to another card. Play music or say “Jump, Jump, Jump, STOP!â€. When the music stops or the PT says “STOPâ€, the student looks at the card they are on (or in front of). The student answers the question on that card. Repeat steps 1-4 for the remaining cards.
Print and assemble jumping mat and jumping spots as directed. Student is to keep their body facing forward at all times with eyes facing the “Sequence Mat†poster. Student will be jumping forward, sideways, and backward onto the “Apples Jumping Spotsâ€.
